Linus is an unregistered 16YO 14.2hh Quarter horse gelding. He is located in Callaway, MD. He is green and will require someone with the time and patience to train him. He will take a rider, and will take a saddle, but they haven't been tested together. He stands for the vet and farrier. He was gelded late in life so should only be kept with other geldings - he has NOT been with mares, and out of an abundance of caution, he shouldn't be in a mixed herd. He's an easy keeper and only requires hay.
Dusty Lane Marko "Marko" is a 2000 15.2hh registered Standardbred gelding located in Upperco, MD. He is more whoa than go. Has good ground manners. Likes the trails, but isn't a fan of ring work so trial partner only. He has good brakes but needs work on his steering. He is such a field puppy though! Anyone would fall in love with him! Requires an intermediate rider to continue his under saddle training.
(Adoption Pending) Is This Thing On "Mr. Personality" is a 2007 bay 15.2hh registered Standardbred gelding located in Thurmont, MD. He raced but was sold to the Amish when his race career didn't work out. He is closely bonded with Sherman so they are looking for a home together.
He has good ground manners and is fine on turnout with appropriate shelter. He's friendly, likes people and is easy to work with. Suitable for a confident intermediate rider. He doesn't have much under saddle training but took a rider and is willing to do what's asked.
Nina is a 12YO 15hh buckskin paint mare up to date on shots and coggins located in Indian Head, MD. She previously foundered so she'll require appropriate shoeing for riding (x-rays are available). She is not suitable for barrels or other strenuous disciplines as a result.
Nina requires an advanced intermediate or advanced rider because she is herd bound and needs someone with experience to handle her when she wants to get back to the herd.
She loads like a champ, ties, and is good with the farrier and vet, but doesn't care for being bathed - although she will tolerate it. She prefers to be out 365/24/7 but can be stalled for short periods. She can go with mares or geldings.
(Adoption Pending) Spy in the Sky "Tank" is a 2002 model 16.2hh registered Standardbred gelding. He rides solo or in a group. Loves to adventure on the trails - he's brave and loves the adventure. He isn't into crowds or commotion so no hunting, or showing.
He has great breaks, and rides comfortably in a hackmore, but he pretty much stops himself with a vocal cue. He is really good about letting the rider mount. He doesn't move until the rider is ready.
He is green and can be wiggly when you first get on, but gets better, so an intermediate rider would be a good fit.
He is very aware of what he should/shouldn't be doing and does his best to avoid getting in trouble. Stands in the cross ties and gets along well with others. Enjoys his stall, so 12 - 12 stall/turnout is fine, loves a warm blanket, and grooming.
He is very good about being groomed, you can touch him all over and picks up all his feet really well. Very good ground manners. Easy to put halter on. Very easy to put bridle on.
His only vice is he's possessive of his food in his stall. He pins his ears, and threatens but doesn't do anything and takes verbal correction well. Good out in the field, and has good feed bucket manners.
(Adoption Pending) Sherman is an aged 15.3hh homebred Standardbred gelding. He is friendly, easy to work with and loves people. It doesn't appear he has ever been ridden but took a rider and direction well. Suitable for an intermediate rider (needs training). He is bonded with Mr. Personality so they are being placed together.
Willie is a mid-late teens 14.2hh homebred Standardbred gelding. He is laid back and happy to just walk about, but is game to take on whatever challenge you ask of him. He would be great for an adventurous pony clubber looking for a horse that loves adventure. He does need you to have some experience because the requires under saddle training. He takes direction well and has good ground manners. We believe he has limited sight in one eye.
